One year after the fall of the iron curtain, Kovas’ mother, Viktorija returns to Lithuania with her American-born son to try to reclaim her father’s beautiful estate. Her old lover escorts the family through the crumbling country, but when they find her land occupied by several impoverished families, the group must consider how far they are willing to go to keep their dreams intact.
